In my opinion, 5-day workweek has done more harm then good.

5 day work week is meant to let families get together so that we could spend more time together but even if we are given a ‘off’ day on Saturday, our parents who is not working under the government will still have to work.

Even if there is the 5 day workweek, students also have to come back to school for CCA if that particular CCA have to join competition like SYF. On the other hand, it benefits those students who joined the uniform group, as they do not have to wake up in the morning to attend their CCA.

Teachers who want to finish the topics on time could not hold remedial class over the weekend thus they need to push everything to be done finish by the weekdays. They give extra homework and sometimes have to teach about 2 topics in just one-week time. If the student could not digest it, there is not much time for them to repeat the lesson too.

In additional, tests are given almost everyday. With the extra homework, CCAs, tuition and enrichment classes that school organised, there is not much time for us to study and finish all the homework.

Personally, I think that this 5 days workweek haves its own joys and woes. It depends on how we see it and how we manage our time.
